It's a story about friendship and self discovery. The cast is great. Especially Daniel Deimer who is utterly charming. Leah Lewis as Ellie Chu was also powerful but unfortunately, I don't think the character was very likable for at least half of the movie. Their chemistry was terrific tho.
My only complaint is that where there are aspects of religion, one character's father is a minister but the church itself uses confessionals as a comedic device. Married me with children can't be priests and Protestant churches do not have confessionals. I hate things that are glaringly inaccurate. My daughter argues that nobody would notice. I said except anyone who has ever been to church.

Who else got surprised by this because they said in the beginning it's not a love story. A coming of age movie. Whoa, we need more movies like this. Finally a new movie that isn't the typical cliche filled romance we see every day. Clever written, bold and very believable unlike so many other films. One

What does Aster mean by being different ? Does she feel in the same way as Ellie (like in love with her. Can someone answer these because I am so confused. This movie is SOOO wholesome. It gives you warm fuzzy feeling. ♥️ Highly recommended! 👌. I was waiting to watch this movie because trailer looked really inviting. But after 30 minutes I was bored out of my mind and for the rest of the movie I was scrolling through facebook. The caracters are flat, the story predictable and clishe and actress playing Aster looks like she's graduating college not a high schooler. This movie is good watch if you are 15 or 17 if you are older than that better go make some dumplings or taco sausage.

This movie is SOOOO good. This video makes me appreciate it even more.
